A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH CONSENTING TO THEE.COPMENCEMENT OF
ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS PURSUANT TO THE INHABITED
TERRITORY ANNE}:ATION ACT OF 1913 TO BE KNOWN.AS.
ANNE1=10N NO. 67, LA.CANADA
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a request from
property owners in the area known as LaCanada asking that the
City Council consent to the annexation of certain contiguous,
unincorporated territory to the City of Newport Beach, which is
described generally as territory bounded by Tustin Avenue on
the east, the rear property lines of lots fronting on La Canada
Way on the south, the property lines parallel to Tustin Avenue
on the west and a line southerly of Orchard Drive on the north; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously referred the
matter of the request for annexation to the Planning Commission
for study and has received a favorable report and recommendation
from the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, Section 35106 of the California Government Code
requires that the consent of the City Council must be obtained
before any proceedings are commenced for the annexation of territory
to a city pursuant to the provisions of the Inhabited Territory
Annexation Act of 1913; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to express its consent
to the commencement of proceedings to annex said territory to the
City of Newport Beach;
NObJ, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach that it hereby consents to the commencement of
proceedings to annex the above described territory known as
Annexation No. 67, La Canada, to the City pursuant to the provisions
of the Inhabited Territory Annexation Act of 1913.
ADOPTED this 28th day of April, 1969.
