A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING INTERSECTIONS AT WHICH
VEHICLES ARE REQUIRED TO STOP AND DIRECTING THE
TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO ERECT NECESSARY STOP SIGNS
WHEREAS, Section 12.36.010 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code provides that whenever an ordinance or resolution designates and
• describes an intersection at which vehicle6 are required to stop at one
or more entrances thereto, the City Traffic Engineer shall erect stop
signs at those entrances of such intersection where a stop is required
and every driver of a vehicle shall stop at such intersection; and
WHEREAS., certain intersections should be designated as
intersections where vehicles are required to stop at one or more
entrances thereto as hereinafter provided;
NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach that each of the following described locations
are hereby designated as intersections at which vehicles are required
to stop, and the City Traffic Engineer is hereby directed to erect and
maintain stop signs at each of said locations:
1. Second Avenue at Jasmine, Larkspur, Poinsettia and Poppy Avenues;
2. Third Avenue at Heliotrope, Iris, Marigold, Orchid, Poinsettia,
and Poppy Avenues;
3. Fourth Avenue at Orchid, Poinsettia and Poppy Avenues;
4. Fernleaf Avenue at Fifth Avenue;
5. Heliotrope Avenue at Fourth and Fifth Avenues;
6. Jasmine Avenue at Third and Fourth Avenues;
7. Larkspur Avenue at Third, Fourth, and Fifth Avenues;
8. Marigold Avenue at Second, Fourth, and Fifth Avenues;
9. Narcissus Avenue at Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Avenues;
10. Orchid Avenue at Fifth Avenue;
11. Poinsettia Avenue at Fifth Avenue.
ADOPTED this 27-th day of October , 19 69.
