A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH INITIATING PROCEEDINGS TO
ANNEX TO THE CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AND
KNOWN AS ANNEXATION NO. 72 - FORD ROAD
ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, on May 11, 1970, the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach directed the City Planning Director to
submit an application to the Local Agency Formation Commission
to initiate proceedings to annex to the City of Newport Beach
certain uninhabited territory contiguous to said City; and
WHEREAS, on ,duly 22, 1970, the Local Agency Formation
Commission authorized the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach to annex said territory without notice and hearing
pursuant to the provisions of Section 35015 of the California
Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the territory comprised within said annexation
is fully described in the legal description attached :hereto,
designated Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby declares its
intention to annex the territory described ;in Exhibit "A"
to the City of Newport Beach.
SECTION 2. A petition consenting to the annexation
• of said territory has been filed by the owners of all the land

in the territory proposed to be annexed;
SECTION 3. The City Council sets forth the following
reasons for desiring to annex said territory:
(a) The area proposed for annexation includes
the right -of -way for the temporary connection between Ford Road
and MacArthur Boulevard;
(b) Annexation of this area is required in
order to provide the City with a publicly dedicated connection
between the area known as Upper Harbor View Hills and Ford Road.
(c) The annexation of this territory will
clarify jurisdictional questions and permit the City to provide
a continuity of street maintenance and traffic enforcement over
the entire tight -of -way.
ADOPTED this 27th day of July, 1970.

FORD ROAD ANNEXATION
That portion of Blocks 56 and 92 of Irvine's Subdivision, in the
County of Orange, State of California as per map filed in Book 1,
• page 88.of Miscellaneous Record Maps in the office of the County .
Recorder of said County, described as follows:.
Commencing at the most Northerly corner of said Block 92;
thence South•40° 36' 54" West 1293.24 feet along the North-
west-line of said Block to an angle point in the boundary of
the City of Newport Beach as established by Ordinance Number
-999 of said City, said angle point being in the East right of
way of MacArthur Boulevard,as described in a deed recorded in
Book 1047, page 557.of Official Records of said County, said
angle point being the True Point of Beginning; thence leav-
ing said boundary'North 11 °.47' 55" West 96.15 feet along
said right of,way to a point of cusp with a curve concave
Northeasterly having a radius of 25.00 feet, a radial to said
Rpoint bears South 780 12' 05" West; thence Southeasterly and
Easterly 39.27 feet along said curve through an angle of 900

450.00 feet; thence Southeasterly 156.13 feet along said
curve through an angle of 19° 52' 44" to the West line of the
land described in a deed to the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph
• Company recorded in Book 7085, page 258, of said Official
Records; thence South 139 05' 15" West 6.97 feet along said
West line to the North line of that certain 50.00 foot reser-
vation for road and utility purposes as described in said deed,
said North line being a curve concave Southerly having a radius
of 1246.00 feet, a radial to said point bears North 130 05' 15"
East; thence Easterly 18.14 feet along said curve through an
angle of 0° 50' 03" to a point on a non - tangent curve concave
Southwesterly having a radius of 210.00 feet, a radial to said
.,point bears North 36° 15' 19" East; thence Southeasterly 23.26

said County Recorder and the boundary of said City as established
by Annexation Number 61 per Resolution Number 6704, of said City;
thence North 83° 26' 31" West 674.96 feet along said boundary
to the East right of way of said MacArthur Boulevard and the
boundary of said City as established by said Ordinance Number
999; thence North 11° 47' 55" West 471.23 feet along said
boundary to the True Point of Beginning.
