A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A
TEMPORARY GRANT OF EASEMENT FOR POWER LINE
PURPOSES TO THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON
COMPANY ALONG FUTURE 19TH STREET
WHEREAS, the Southern California Edison Company desires
to construct a power line along future 19th Street west of
Whittier Avenue, and has requested a temporary grant of easement
from the City to accommodate said power line; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is in the best
interests of the City and the public to grant said temporary
easement, subject to certain exceptions which provide for
termination of said easement and relocation, at no expense to
the City, of the facilities thereon, upon the future dedication
and improvement of 19th Street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby authorized to execute a temporary grant of easement to
the Southern California Edison Company for power line purposes,
subject to said exceptions, across the following real property
legally described as follows:
STRIP 1
A strip of land, 10 feet wide, lying within that portion
of Lot A of the Banning Tract, as shown on a map of said
tract filed in the case of Hancock Banning and others vs.
Mary M. Banning for partition and being Case No. 6385 upon
the Register of Actions in the Superior Court of the State
of California, in and for the County of Los Angeles,
described in that certain Final Order of Condemnation in
the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for
the County of Orange, Case No. 59481, a certified copy of
which was recorded on January 27, 1953, in Book 2443, page 80,
of Official Records, in the office of the County Recorder
of said County of Orange. The center line of said 10 -foot-
wide strip of land is described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the westerly line of
said certain parcel of land described on said page 80, with
a line that is parallel with and distant northerly five (5)

feet measured at right angles from the southerly line of
said certain parcel; thence North 89 °23638" East a distance
of 473.37 feet along said parallel line to.a point
described as Point "A "; thence South 60 °39159" East to
the southerly line of said parcel described on said page 80.
The side lines of said 10 -foot -wide strip of land
shall be prolonged or shortened so as to intersect the
westerly and southerly lines of said parcel of land
described in Book 2443, page 80 of said Official Records.
STRIP 2
Beginning at the hereinabove referred to Point "A ";
thence North 19 000634" East, 40.00 feet. EXCEPT THAT
PORTION thereof described in Strip 1 above.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
directed to cause the recordation of said temporary grant of
easement in the Office of the County Recorder of Orange County.
