A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 7227
WHICH ADOPTED A MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION
PLAN FOR 1970 -71
WHEREAS, Section 2.28.010 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code provides that, upon the recommendation of the City Manager,
the City Council shall establish by resolution the classification
of positions in city employment and a salary range or rate for
each class or position; and
WHEREAS, Section 2.28.030 of the Code provides that
the City Manager shall review the provisions of the resolution
at least annually and recommend changes deemed necessary to remove
inequities or to meet the operational needs of the City; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7227 the City
Council adopted a municipal employee compensation plan for
1970 -71; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended the adoption
of certain amendments to said municipal employee compensation
plan, as hereinafter described;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the following amendments to the
above referenced municipal employee compensation plan are hereby
adopted:
1. Exhibit "A" of Resolution No. 7227, entitled
"Alphabetical List of Permanent Classes and Assignment to Salary
Ranges, consisting of four pages, and an Alphabetical List of
Temporary and Seasonal Classes and Assignment to Salary Ranges,
consisting of one page ", together with the accompanying Table
of Authorization, is hereby revised as follows:
(a) ABOLISH the following departments and classes:

(c) The City Manager is hereby authorized to combine
the remaining positions which were not abolished pursuant to
Section (a) of this paragraph, with the new positions in the new
department created by Section (b) of this paragraph.
(d) ADD one additional position of Accounting Clerk I,
Salary Range 31, in the Administration Division of the Finance
Department.
