A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING PURCHASES
OF CERTAIN...ITEMS. TO BE..MADE FOR THE CITY BY
THE PURCHASING AGENT OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
WHEREAS, it is permissible under Sections 51301, et
seq., of the Government Code of the State of California to
contract with the County to perform certain functions for the
City; and
WHEREAS, it appears that it is.possible to.acquire
certain items consistent with.the City's_ centralized purchasing
system at a substantially lower cost by having them.purchas.ed
by the County; and
WHEREAS, it is, therefore, the..des.ire of the City
Council to contract with the County for the County Purchasing
Agent to purchase certain items for the City_ under the
following conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of
Newport Beach hereby

to pay the expenses and costs incurred by the County in per-
forming the services for the City within 15 days after being
billed for the same, provided such expenses and costs incurred
in any month are billed to the City prior to the end of the
following month.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, upon the approval of
the terms of this resolution by the Orange County Board of
Supervisors, it shall constitute -a contr-act.be.tween the City
and the County, which said contract shall_have.a term of five
(5) years from the date of .appr.oval.and.shall..be subject to
termination by either party .upon giving written notice to the
other party one year prior to .the ..date of...ter.mination.
