A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF A. REVISED AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AND CALIFORNIA STATE DIVISION
OF HIGHWAYS FOR MAINTENANCE OF STATE HIGHWAYS
IN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
WHEREAS, under the terms of that certain agreement
between the City of Newport Beach and the State of California
Division of Highways, dated June 28, 1965, the Division of
Highways has performed routine maintenance of the state highways
in the City, consisting of sweeping and street lighting
maintenance; and
WHEREAS, because of an increase in unit costs, plus
additional miles of highway added by annexations to the City
since 1965, it has become necessary to revise said agreement to
reflect a maximum annual reimbursement of $20,000, as recently
negotiated between the parties; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the terms and
conditions of said revised agreement and found them to be fair
and equitable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said revised
agreement for the services above described, providing for a
maximum annual reimbursement of $20,000, is approved, and the
Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute
the same on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
ADOPTED THIS 17th day of May, 1971.
