A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ADOPTING A SUPPLE-
MENTAL REPORT AND MAP RECOMMENDING PROPOSED
ADDITIONS AND DELETIONS TO THE SELECT SYS-
TEM OF CITY STREETS AND REQUESTING THAT SAID
REPORT AND MAP BE APPROVED BY THE CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, a select system of city streets for the City
of Newport Beach has been established in accordance with Sections
186.3 and 186.4 of the Streets and Highways Code, and,
WHEREAS, there has been presented to this City Council
by the Director of Public Works for its consideration a supple-
mental report dated.September 13, 1971 and a map entitled "City
of Newport Beach Select System Modification" dated September 13,
1971, copies of which are attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and
Exhibit "B,11 respectively, in which are recommended certain ad-
ditions and deletions to the street system which are warranted
by changes brought about by annexations, changes in traffic or
land use patterns or other causes of equal necessity which have
occurred since the system was last amended; and,
WHEREAS, this Council finds the recommended select system
additions and deletions to be necessary for the expenditure of ap-
portioned Highway Users Tax Funds in the manner and in accordance
with the provisions of the Statutes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
Newport Beach does adopt said report and map, and in accordance
with the provisions of Section 186,3 of the Streets and Highways
Code, does hereby petititon the California Department of Public
Works to approve the select system additions and deletions set
forth herein, together with such modifications as the Department
• may find to be necessary to conform to statutory requirements.
