A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A
CITIZENS' ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR THE SANTA
ANA RIVER- SANTIAGO CREEK GREEN BELT PLAN
WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Supervisors by
Resolution No. 71 -724 adopted the Santa Ana River - Santiago Creek
Green Belt Plan as a component of the Orange County Master Plan
of Land Use; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Supervisors has
also approved, by Resolution No. 72 -287, an implementation program
for the Green Belt; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach and all other public
jurisdictions within the Green Belt planning area have been urged
to endorse the implementation program and to establish a Citizens
Committee to be involved in program implementation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to work
cooperatively with other public agencies and private citizen
groups to achieve Green Belt Plan objectives and to intelligently
evaluate the proposed implementation program that has been
presented for City consideration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach hereby establishes a Santa Ana River-
Santiago Creek Green Belt Plan Newport Beach Citizens Advisory
Committee to:
1. Study and recommend City policy concerning the
proposed implementation program;
2. Keep informed on Green Belt Plan Organization
Committee activities of interest to the City of Newport Beach; and
3. Serve to provide citizen input and involvement in
promoting Green Belt Plan objectives;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Citizens Committee
shall be comprised of five members, to be appointed by the City
Council, together with one staff member from the Community
Development Department.
ADOPTED this 8th day of May, 1972.
