RESOLUTION NO. 7 73 7
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF
APPLICATION FOR A H.U.D. GRANT FOR THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMPUTER BASED CENTRALIZED
DATA SYSTEM
WHEREAS, Section 701 of the Housing Act of 1954, as
amended, authorizes the Department of Housing and Urban Development
to award planning and management assistance grants under the
Comprehensive Planning Assistance Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to establish a computer
based centralized data system in order to provide improved planning
and management information in connection with the development,
implementation and updating of the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the project is $133,350.00,
of which the City of Newport Beach would make in kind contributions
of $44,450.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application with the
Department of Housing and Urban Development for a comprehensive
planning assistance grant in the amount of $88,900.00 towards a
total project cost of $133,350.00;
2. Authorizes the City Manager to execute and file such
application with the Department of Housing and Urban Development;
to provide such additional information or documents as may be
required for the application; and to execute and submit such
agreements as may be required to implement and complete said
project.
ADOPTED this 26th day of June, 1972.
