RESOLUTION NO. 7753
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ORDERING CERTAIN ADDITIONAL
WORK TO BE DONE IN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 54
WHEREAS, on the 12th day of June, 1972, the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach adopted Resolution No. 7717, entitled
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER CERTAIN ADDITIONAL WORK TO BE
DONE IN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 54 PURSUANT TO THE IMPROVEMENT ACT
OF 1911 AND GIVING NOTICE OF HEARING THEREON WHEN OBJECTIONS TO
SAID ADDITIONAL WORK MAY BE PRESENTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL ", and
WHEREAS, Chapter 8.5, Division 7 of the California
Streets & Highways Code, authorizes the City Council to order
changes in the work proposed to be done within an assessment
district; and
WHEREAS, the proposed work as recommended to the City
Council by the Engineer of Work consists of additional work to be
done in Assessment District No. 54, consisting of the addition of
approximately six hundred (600) linear feet of alley paving, plus the
reconstruction of two existing alley approaches, in the location
hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, on July 10, 1972, a hearing was held to
consider objections to the proposed additional work, and all
protests and objections, both written and oral, were considered by
the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows:
Section 1. The City Council hereby overrules all
objections made to the proposed additional work as hereinafter
IDdescribed;
Section 2. The public interest and convenience require

the work hereinafter described to be done, and the City Council
hereby orders the following work to be done, in Assessment
District No. 54, to wit:
The construction of approximately six hundred (600)
linear feet of alley pavement, plus the reconstruction of two
existing alley approaches, all located in Block 30, First Addition
to Newport Heights. The unnamed alley is aprallel with and is
located midway between Catalina Drive and Westminster Avenue,
and extends from Clay Street to Fifteenth Street. The alley
approaches are in Clay Street and in Fifteenth Street. Said
proposed additional work is shown on Sheets 2 and 3 of City of
Newport Beach Drawing No. A- 5044 -S, copies of which are on file
in the offices of the Public Works Director and City Clerk.
ADOPTED this 10th day of July, 1972.
