RESOLUTION NO. 8058
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH RECOGNIZING THE
CALIFORNIA COUNCIL OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE
AS THE ADMINISTERING AGENCY FOR THE LOW
LIGHT LEVEL VIEWING SYSTEM GRANT AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
SIGN THE GRANT
WHEREAS, on February 28, 1972, the City Council
adopted Resolution No. 7632 authorizing the Mayor to submit
an application to the Law Enforcement Assistance Administra-
tion (LEAA) for a grant for the development of an airborne
low light level viewing system; and
WHEREAS, on November 13, 1972, the City Council
adopted Resolution No. 7873 directing the City Manager to
allocate $30,000 from the Contingency Reserve Fund to be
used in conjunction with the LEAA low light level viewing
system grant; and
WHEREAS, the LEAA has approved the City of Newport
Beach's grant request for the low light level viewing device;
and
WHEREAS, the LEAA has designated the California
Council of Criminal Justice to be the administrative authority
to disperse funds under the low light level viewing device grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby recognizes the California
Council of Criminal Justice as the administrative authority to
disperse funds under the low light level viewing device grant.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach that the Mayor and City Clerk are autho-
rized to execute the grant agreement with the California Council
of Criminal Justice for the dispersion of funds from the Law
Enforcement Assistance Administration for the low light level
viewing device.
