RESOLUTION NO. 8159
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ADOPTING THE MASTER PLAN OF
BIKEWAYS AS A PART OF THE RECREATION AND OPEN
SPACE ELEMENT OF THE NEWPORT BEACH GENERAL
PLAN
WHEREAS, a phase of the City's General Plan Program,
Recreation and Open Space Element, has involved the preparation
of the Master Plan of Bikeways; and
WHEREAS, said Master Plan of Bikeways sets forth
objectives and supporting policies which will serve as a guide
for the future planning and development of a bikeway system
within the City; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Newport
Beach, pursuant to Section 707 of the Newport Beach City Charter,
has held public hearings to consider the adoption of the Master
Plan of Bikeways as a part of the Recreation and Open Space
Element of the Newport Beach General Plan and has adopted and
has recommended that the City Council adopt said element; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has conducted a public hearing
to consider the adoption of the Master Plan of Bikeways as a
part of the City's General Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach does hereby adopt as a part of the
Recreation and Open Space Element of the Newport Beach General
Plan the Master Plan of Bikeways described above, a copy of
which is on file in the office of the City Clerk.
