A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION
OF AN APPLICATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A
® COMPUTERIZED ALARM RECEPTION AND DISPATCH
SYSTEM TO THE LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE
ADMINISTRATION.
WHEREAS, The City of Newport Beach desires to
undertake the development of a Computerized Alarm Reception
and Dispatch System to be funded in part from funds made
available through the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets
Act of 1968 administered by the Law Enforcement Assistance
Administration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach as follows:
(1) that the City Manager is authorized to submit
the attached Application for Grant for Law Enforcement
Purposes to the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration;
(2) that in the event that the Law Enforcement
Assistance Administration consents to fund the project, the
City Manager is authorized to execute on behalf of the City
of Newport Beach the contract for the grant for law enforce-
ment purposes;
(3) that the applicant agrees to provide the required
matching funds to said project;
(4) that grant funds received hereunder shall not
be used to supplant ongoing law enforcement expenditures.
