RESOLUTION NO. 8200
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPOINTING THE
PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR AS THE CITY'S
AGENT IN CONNECTION WITH THE ABANDONMENT
AND RECOMPLETION OF CITY OIL WELLS
WHEREAS, Section 3200 of the California Public
Resources Code requires that the owners or operators of oil
wells located in the State of California designate an agent
to act for them in receiving legal notices, orders and
processes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the
Public Works Director is the most appropriate individual to
act as the City's agent in connection with the abandonment
and recompletion of the City's oil wells;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
hereby designates the Public Works Director as the City's
agent pursuant to Section 3200 of the California Public
Resources Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, City Clerk
and Public Works Director are hereby authorized and directed to
execute any and all documents necessary to carry out the intent
of this resolution.
