RESOLUTION NO. 8279
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH SUPPORTING THE SANTA ANA
WATERSHED COMPREHENSIVE WATER QUALITY
MANAGEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, in February, 1974 the Santa Ana Watershed
Planning Agency prepared a final report to the Environmental
Protection Agency recommending a Water Quality Management
Plan for the Santa Ana River Watershed; and
WHEREAS, said report includes a recommended compre-
hensive plan for implementation; and
WHEREAS, the implementation of said plan will serve
to recover lost beneficial uses and will prevent further
degradation of the Watershed's fresh water supplies; and
WHEREAS, implementation of said plan will be of
great benefit to the County of Orange and the City of Newport
Beach;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby expresses its strong
support of the work of the Santa Ana Watershed Planning
Agency, and commends the Agency for its efforts in protecting
and enhancing the quality of water resources within the Santa
Ana Watershed.
ADOPTED this 10th day of June, 1974.
