A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH CERTIFYING COMPLIANCE WITH
THE ASSURANCES OF THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City of Newport Beach
to participate in a joint application with the County of Orange
. for a grant authorized under the Housing and Community Development
Act of 1974; and
• WHEREAS, three public hearings, two before the City
Council and one before the Planning Commission, have been held to
outline the objectives of said Act and to solicit citizen input
on the Housing and Community Development needs of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the requirements of said
Act with particular reference to the need for compliance with the
Assurances contained therein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of
Newport Beach
1. Assures and certifies that the City of Newport
Beach will comply with the fiscal and accounting regulations,
policies, guidelines and requirements of the County of Orange as
they relate to the acceptance and use of federal funds for this
federally- assisted program;
2. Assures and certifies that it has complied and
will continue to comply with all applicable requirements of the
Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 and does assure
compliance with Items 1 through 8, 9a and 10 of the Assurances,
a copy of which is on file in the City Clerk's office;
3. Designates the City Manager as the authorized
representative of the City to act in connection with the
application;
4. Authorizes the City Attorney to sign the
necessary legal certifications.
