RESOLUTION NO. 8557
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING THE LAND USE
AND RESIDENTIAL GROWTH ELEMENTS OF THE GENERAL
PLAN TO CHANGE THE DESIGNATION OF APPROXIMATELY
FIFTY ACRES OF UNDEVELOPED LAND NORTH OF PACIFIC
VIEW MEMORIAL PARK FROM "GOVERNMENTAL, EDUCATIONAL
AND INSTITUTIONAL" TO "LOW- DENSITY RESIDENTIAL ",
(AMENDMENT NO. 18)
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted the Land Use
and Residential Growth Elements of the Newport Beach General
Plan; and
WHEREAS, said Land Use and Residential Growth Elements
set forth objectives and supporting policies which will serve as
a guide for the future planning and development of the City; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 707 of the City Charter
of the City of Newport Beach, the Planning Commission has held
a public hearing to consider an amendment to the Land Use and
Residential Growth Elements, which amendment sets forth the
following changes:
1. Revise the Land Use and Residential Growth plans
(maps) to designate the fifty -acre site north of Pacific View
Memorial Park as Low - density Residential.
2. The following words should be added to page 29 of
the Residential Growth Element:
11(6) Residential development on the fifty -
acres site north of Pacific View Memorial
Park shall be limited to a maximum of 175
dwelling units."
3. The statistical charts in the Residential Growth
Element shall be amended to reflect the 175 dwelling unit increase.
4. Certify to the completion of the Environmental
Impact Report for said amendment.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended to the
City Council said amendment to the Land Use and Residential Growth
Elements of the Newport Beach General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing
to consider said amendment;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach does hereby adopt General Plan
Amendment No. 18 as described hereinabove.
ADOPTED this 28th day of July , 1975.
