RESOLUTION NO. 8722
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING THE LAND USE AND
RECREATION AND OPEN SPACE ELEMENTS OF THE
NEWPORT BEACH GENERAL PLAN IN CONJUNCTION
WITH A PORTION OF NEWPORT PLACE PLANNED
COMMUNITY (Amendment No. 76 -1 -B); AND A
PORTION OF KOLL CENTER NEWPORT PLANNED
COMMUNITY (Amendment No. 76 -1 -C)
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted the Land
Use Element and Recreation and Open Space Element of the
Newport Beach General Plan; and
WHEREAS, said Land Use and Recreation and Open
Space Elements set forth objectives and supporting policies
which will serve as a guide for the future planning and
development of the City; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 707 of the City Charter
of the City of Newport Beach, the Planning Commission has held
a public hearing to consider an amendment to the Land Use,
and Recreation and Open Space Elements, which amendment sets
forth the following changes:
1) Amendment No. 76 -1 -B. Revise the Land Use
Element of the Newport Beach General Plan to change the designa-
tion of a portion of the industrially designated area of
Newport Place Planned Community (at the intersection of Bristol
Street and Spruce Avenue) to a mixture of "Administrative,
Professional and Financial Commercial" and "Retail and Service
Commercial."
2) Amendment No. 76 -1 -C. Revise the Land Use
Element of the Newport Beach General Plan to change the designa-
tion of a portion of the industrially designated area of Koll
Center Newport Planned Community (at the intersection of
Jamboree Road and Birch Street) to a mixture of "Administrative,
Professional and Financial Commercial" and "Retail and Service
Commercial."

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended to
the City Council said amendment to the Land Use and Recreation
and Open Space Elements of the Newport Beach General Plan;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing
to consider said amendment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach does hereby adopt the amendment
designated as 76 -1 -B and 76 -1 -C hereinabove.
