RESOLUTION NO. 8919
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING AN AGREE-
MENT WITH THE BALBOA ISLAND FERRY
• ESTABLISHING A FLAT RATE FEE FOR USE OF
THE FERRY BY CITY EMPLOYEES, AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT,
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 8764.
WHEREAS, there has existed for several years an
agreement providing for the payment by the City of a flat rate
to the Balboa Island Ferry for the use of the Balboa Island
Ferry by City employees while on City business; and
WHEREAS, on May 10, 1976, the City Council adopted
Resolution No. 8764 setting said flat rate at $200.00 per
month; and
WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Commission approved
a fair increase on July 21, 1976 resulting in a net increase
of five cents per trip for vehicles used by City employees
on City business; and
WHEREAS, it is fair and equitable to increase the
monthly flat rate fee to comply with the rate set by the
California Public Utilities Commission; and
WHEREAS, it is found and determined that the proposed
agreement is fair and equitable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the agreement between the City
and the Balboa Island Ferry providing for a flat rate fee of
Two Hundred and Twenty -Five Dollars ($225.00) per month for
use by City employees on City business be and is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is
10 hereby authorized and directed to execute the letter agreement
with the Balboa Island Ferry authorizing said payment to the
Balboa Island Ferry from the City of Newport Beach.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 8764 is
0 hereby rescinded.
