RESOLUTION NO. 9096
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE
ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH AND KNOWN AS ANNEXATION NO. 82, HARBOR
RIDGE
WHEREAS, on March 23, 1977, the Local Agency Forma-
tion Commission of Orange County approved by Resolution No.
77 -5 the proposed annexation to the City of Newport Beach of
approximately 1.095 acres, hereinafter described, designated
as Annexation No. 82, Harbor Ridge, pursuant to the application
filed by The Irvine Company as one of the owners of the
territory to be annexed, and, further certified a negative
declaration thereon; and
WHEREAS, by virtue of said Resolution, the Local
Agency Formation Commission of Orange County authorized the
City of Newport Beach to annex such territory without notice
and hearing and without an election pursuant to Section 54797.1
of the California Government Code; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the necessary proceedings
in accordance with the requirements of the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 have been completed;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach hereby resolves as follows:
SECTION 1. The annexation to the City of Newport Beach,
California, of that certain uninhabited territory contiguous to
said city, known as Annexation No. 82, Harbor Ridge, is hereby
approved; said property is more particularly described as follows:
That portion of Block 97 of Irvine's Subdivision
in the County of Orange, State of California, per
map filed in Book 1, Page 88 of Miscellaneous
Record Maps in the office of the County Recorder
of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at an angle point in the Easterly boundary
of the City of Newport Beach, said angle point being
the Southwesterly terminus of the course
described as "North 24 046108" East, 20.00
feet" of Annexation No. 81 to the City of
Newport Beach adopted June 9, 1975 by the
City Council of said City as Resolution
No. 8508; thence along said Annexation No.
81 boundary as follows:
North 24 046108" East 20.00 feet; South
65 °13'52" East 25.00 feet; North 32 053106"
East 69.81 feet; North 1 009'18" East 27.54
feet to an angle point in said City boundary
and an angle point in the Northerly boundary
of the land described in deed to the
Metropolitan Water District of Southern
California by deed recorded in Book 7599,
Page 14, Official Records of said County,
said angle point being the Westerly terminus
of the course described as "North 89 °24'59"
East 250.00 feet" in said deed; thence along
said Northerly line, being also the Southerly
line of said Annexation No. 81 boundary and
its Easterly prolongation, North 89 °59'43"
East, 163.15 feet; thence South 0 000117"
East 310.13 feet; thence South 89 °59'43" West
50.00 feet to an angle point in the Easterly
boundary of Annexation No. 70 to the City of
Newport Beach adopted November 23, 1970 by the
City Council of said City as Resolution No.
7311, being also a point in the Westerly
boundary of the course described as "North
40 046'20" West" in the deed to the Metropolitan
Water District of Southern California recorded
in Book 7599, Page 17, Official Records of
said County; thence North 40 011136" West along
said line, 283.12 feet to the point of beginning.
Containing 1.095 acres
SECTION 2. The above parcel of property legally
described in Section 1 shall be subject to taxation after
annexation equally with properties in.the City of Newport Beach
to pay any indebtedness and liabilities of the City of Newport
Beach outstanding, contracting, authorized, or existing prior
to, or at the time of annexation.
SECTION 3. The boundaries of the City of Newport
Beach, California, shall be, and the same are hereby altered
to include the territory described in Section 1 of this Resolution.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file
a certified copy of this Resolution with the Secretary of State
of the State of California.
