A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AWARDING A CONTRACT TO J. RAY
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
NEWPORT CENTER BRANCH LIBRARY, CONTRACT NO. 1861
WHEREAS, pursuant to the notice inviting bids for
work in connection with construction of Newport Center Branch
Library, in accordance with the plans and specifications hereto-
fore adopted, bids were received on the 3rd day of April, 1978,
and publicly opened and declared; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the lowest responsible
bidder therefor is J. RAY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the bid of J. Ray Construction
Company for the work in the amount of $637,000 be accepted,
and that the contract for the described work be awarded to said
bidder;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract in
accordance with the specifications, bid and this award on behalf
of the City of Newport Beach and that the City Clerk be directed
to furnish an executed copy to the successful bidder.
ADOPTED this 10th day of April , 1978.
