A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING THE PLANNED COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS FOR "CORPORATE PLAZA" TO
PROVIDE SIGNS WHICH IDENTIFY THE PROJECT AND TO
TO PROVIDE FOR ON -SITE DIRECTIONAL AND PARKING
SIGNS (Amendment No. 531)
WHEREAS, Section 20.51.045 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that final amendments to a Planned
Community Development Plan must be approved by a resolution
of the City Council setting forth full particulars of the
amendments; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission conducted a public
hearing on May 10, 1979, at which time it considered certain
amendments to the Planned Community Development Plan for
"Corporate Plaza" to identify the project and to provide for
on -site directional and parking signs; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing the Planning Commission
adopted Resolution No. 1036, recommending to the City Council
that certain amendments to the Planned Community Development Plan
for "Corporate Plaza" be adopted as set forth as follows:
Section IV, Part E, Subsections 4 and 5 be added to
read as follows:
"4. Project Identification Signs
a. The location of project identification signs
will be subject to approval of the Director
of Community Development.
b. These signs may be located within setback areas.
c. Maximum height of the signs will not exceed 6'
above the existing grade.
d. Single sign face '(not including supporting
structure) will not exceed 100 sq. ft.
e. The letter size will not exceed 18 ".
f. No flashing or pole signs will be permitted.
g. The signs may be externally illuminated.
h. One sign only at each entry on Pacific Coast
Highway and Newport Center Drive.

115. Directional: and Parking ' 'S'igns
a. The location of directional and parking signs
will be subject to approval of the Director of
Community Development and the Traffic Engineer.
b. Maximum height of these signs will not exceed
4' above existing grade.
c. Single face (not including supportins structure)
shall not exceed 12 square feet.
d. The letter size shall not exceed 9 ".
e. No flashing or pole signs will be permitted."
WHEREAS, the City Council has conducted a public
hearing on the proposed amendments in accordance with all provisions
of law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
hereby approves the proposed amendments to the Planned Community
Development Plan for "Corporate Plaza" as referred to
hereinabove.
