HomeMy WebLinkAbout9777 - Stop Signs on Santiago Drive0 RESOLUTION NO. 9777 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH REQUIRING VEHICLES TO STOP ON SANTIAGO DRIVE AT NOTTINGHAM ROAD AND RESCINDING THE PORTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 9402 REQUIRING VEHICLES ON SANTIAGO DRIVE TO STOP AT THE SOUTHERLY INTERSECTION OF GALAXY DRIVE AND RESCINDING THE PORTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 7558 REQUIRING VEHICLES ON SANTIAGO DRIVE TO STOP AT NOTTINGHAM ROAD WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore adopted Resolution No. 7558 which requires vehicles proceeding northbound on Santiago Drive to stop at the intersection of Santiago Drive and Nottingham Road; and WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore adopted Resolution No. 9402 which, inter alia, directed the City Traffic Engineer to erect and maintain a stop sign on Santiago Drive at the southerly intersection with Galaxy Drive; and WHEREAS, the Traffic Affairs Committee has reevalu- ated the feasibility and desirability of placing traffic con- trol devices at one of the two intersections described above and has determined that it is more desirable to relocate traffic control devices to the intersection of Santiago Drive and • Nottingham Road; and WHEREAS, the Dover Shores Community Association has reviewed this recommendation and concurs therewith, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that vehicles proceeding both north- bound and southbound on Santiago Drive be required to stop at its intersection with Nottingham Road, and that the City Traffic Engineer is hereby directed to erect and maintain two stop signs at said location; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that that portion of Resolution • No. 9402 that designates Santiago Drive at the northerly inter- • • it section with Galaxy Drive as an intersection at which vehicles are required to stop, and which further requires the Traffic Engineer to erect and maintain stop signs at said location, is hereby rescinded; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any language contained in Resolution No. 7558 that is inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution be hereby rescinded.
