• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH CREATING A CITY COUNCIL AD
HOC LOCAL COASTAL PROGRAM COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, on February 23, 1981 the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach adopted, in concept, the Land Use Plan for the
Local Coastal Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach finds
it appropriate to create an Ad Hoc City Council Committee to
review the further steps needed in final preparation of the land
use plan of the Local Coastal Program, together with the Local
Coastal Program itself; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the Ad Hoc City Council
Local Coastal Program Committee review with the staff the Phrase
III Work Program and Marketing Plan for the presentation of the
Land Use Plan to the Coastal Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach that the City Council Ad Hoc Local Coastal
Program Committee is hereby created.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the functions and duties of the
Committee shall be as follows:
• 1. The Committee shall consist of three members, appointed
by the Mayor.
• 2. The Committee shall act in an advisory capacity to the
City Council and to staff and oversee, coordinate and
' review the final preparation of the Phase III Work
Program for preparation and adoption of a Local Coastal
Program.
3. The Committee shall act in an advisory capacity to the
City Council and staff in the preparation of a marketing
plan for the presentation of the Land Use Plan to the
Coastal Commission.
4. The existence of the Committee shall be reviewed.in the
October, 1981 review of City Council Committees by the
City Council.
