RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
• NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A ONE -WAY BICYCLE
TRAIL, IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION, ON THE
WESTERLY 6 FT. OF BACKBAY DR. BETWEEN SAN
JOAQUIN HILLS ROAD AND THE ENTRANCE TO
SHELLMAKER ISLAND
WHEREAS, Section 12.56.180 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that whenever any resolution of this City
designates any portion of a street or sidewalk as a bicycle lane,
the City Traffic Engineer shall place and maintain signs giving
notice thereof; and
WHEREAS, the street hereinafter described is the street
which should be designated as a one - -way bicycle trail, in a
southerly direction on the westerly 6 ft. of Backbay Dr., between
San Joaquin Hills Road and the entrance to Shellmaker Island.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the above- described area be and
hereby is designated as a one -way bicyle trail, as hereinbefore
described; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer
is authorized and directed to appropriately sign or mark said
street to indicate the above designation.
ADOPTED this 8th day of February , 1982.
