A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH SUPPORTING A PLANNED
CONFERENCE ON HOMELESS WOMEN
•
WHEREAS, there exists an ever increasing problem
involving "homeless women" which problem impacts on Orange County
and the various communities in said County;
WHEREAS, this problem needs attention in order to focus
on the problems of homeless women, develop positive strategies,
and to mobilize community action and resources; and
WHEREAS, the scope of the problem of "homeless women"
needs further definition and consideration of preventative action
to avoid future problems;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach does encourage and endorse these efforts and supports the
scheduled Conference on Homeless Women to be held on July 29,
1982 at the University of California, Irvine.
