A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A GRANT OF EASEMENT TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
EDISON COMPANY FOR AN UNDERGROUND LINE AND
PAD - MOUNTED TRANSFORMER AT THE CORPORATION
YARD
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach is the owner of
certain property adjacent to the Corporation Yard; and
WHEREAS, Southern California Edison Company has
requested an easement from the City of Newport Beach for the
installation, by it, of a company -owned underground 12,000 volt
line and a surface pad- mounted transformer to serve the
Corporation Yard; and
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach a Grant of Easement by which the
City would grant to Southern California Edison Company, a
corporation, its successors and assigns, an easement and right -
of -way to construct, use, maintain, operate, alter, add to,
repair, replace, reconstruct, inspect and remove at any time and
from time -to -time underground electrical supply systems and
communication systems consisting of wires, underground conduits,
cables, vaults, manholes, handholes, and including above - ground
enclosures, markers and concrete pads and other appurtenant
fixtures and equipment necessary or useful for distributing
electrical energy and for transmitting intelligence by electrical
means, in, on, over, under, across and along that certain real
property in the County of Orange, State of California, described
. on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference, subject to certain conditions as more particularly set
forth therein; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
has determined that the execution of the Grant of Easement would
be in the mutual interest of the parties concerned.
is NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach are hereby, authorized and directed to
execute said Grant of Easement on behalf of the City of Newport
Beach and deliver same to the grantee.

EXHIBIT "A"
Three strips of land in the City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of
California, lying within Lot 169, Block 2, Irvine's Subdivision, as per map
recorded in Book 1, Page 88, of Miscellaneous Maps in the Office of the County
Recorder of said County, said strips of land being described individually as
follows:
STRIP NO. 1
A strip of land 6.00 feet in width; the center line of STRIP NO. 1 being de-
scribed as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Industrial Way
with the center line of Superior Avenue as said intersection now
exists in the City of Costa Mesa; thence South 400 00' 00" West
along the center line of said Superior Avenue 389.51 feet; thence
South 500 00' 00" East 50.00 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING of
STRIP NO. 1; thence South 500 00' 00" East 135.00 feet; thence South
10 48' 05" East 46.51 feet, more or less, to a point in a line that is
parallel with and distant southeasterly 216.00 feet measured at right
angles, from said center line of Superior Avenue, said last- mentioned
point hereinafter referred to as point "A ".
STRIP NO. 2
A strip of land 18.00 feet in width; the side lines of said STRIP NO. 2 being
5.00 feet northeasterly and 13.00 feet southwesterly of the following de-
scribed line:
Beginning at said Point "A "; thence South 500 00' 00" East 25.00 feet.
STRIP NO. 3
A strip of land 6:00 feet in width; the center line of STRIP NO. 3 being de-
scribed as follows:
Beginning at the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING of STRIP NO. 1; thence South
500 00' 00" East 3.00 feet; thence South 400 00' 00" West 3.00 feet
to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING of STRIP NO. 3; thence South 400 00' 00"
West 100.00 feet.
The three strips of land described above in Exhibit "A" are shown on the
attached drawing labeled Exhibit "B ", City of Newport Beach Drawing No.
R /W- 5461 -L, dated July 8, 1982.
