RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING CERTAIN
OF ITS MEMBERS TO FILE A WRITTEN ARGUMENT
REGARDING A BALLOT MEASURE.
WHEREAS, a regular general municipal election is to be
• held in the City of Newport Beach, California, on November 2,
1982, at which there will be submitted to the qualified electors
of said City the following measure:
SHALL THE CITY COUNCIL OF NEWPORT BEACH
BE AUTHORIZED TO LEASE, FOR TWENTY -FIVE YES
YEARS, ITS INTEREST IN NORTH STAR BEACH
TO ALLOW A NON- PROFIT CORPORATION
TO CONSTRUCT, AT NO COST TO
THE CITY, AN AQUATIC CENTER FOR HUMAN- NO
POWERED CRAFT AND RELATED ACTIVITIES
THAT ARE SUPPORTIVE OF THE PRIMARY USE
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That this City Council, being the
legislative body of the City of Newport Beach hereby authorizes:
and
CITY COUNCILMAN PHILIP R. MAURER
CITY COUNCILWOMAN EVEL'YN HART
who are members of said body as well as members of The Tidelands
Affairs Committee, to file a written argument in favor of the
ballot measure set forth in the recitals hereof in accordance
with Article 4, Chapter 3, Division .5 of the Elections Code of
the State of California and to change said argument until and
including the date fixed by the City Clerk after which no
arguments for or against said Ballot measure may be submitted to
the City Clerk.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED on July 26 , 1982.
