A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING THE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT COORDINATING COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, the City Council has established Business
Improvement districts to promote commercial areas and enhance business
conditions for members of the districts; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that BID administrative duties be
performed cooperatively by all BIDS so as to avoid inconsistencies and achieve
economies of scale; and
WHEREAS, the formation of a BID Coordinating Committee
comprised of representatives of each BID Advisory Board, the Newport Beach
• Conference and Visitors Bureau, and the Newport Harbor Area Chamber of
Commerce will help to facilitate the joint administration of all BIDS and also
foster cooperation in their promotional efforts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a BID
Coordinating Committee comprised of a President or Chairman of each BID
Advisory board, the Newport Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau CEO, the
Assistant City Manager, and the President of the Newport Harbor Area Chamber
of Commerce is hereby established in order to facilitate the joint administration of
all BIDS and foster cooperation in their promotional efforts.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that coordination of ongoing BID
administrative responsibilities shall be overseen by the Business Improvement
• District Coordinating Committee, which shall make recommendations to the City
• Council regarding the scope of services and vendor selection for BID
administrative support.

This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a regular
meeting and thereon held on the 26`h day of April, 1999.
