A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING THE AD HOC CITY
COUNCIL COMMITTEE TO STUDY TRAFFIC CONDITIONS
IN AND AROUND CORONA DEL MAR
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that a
study should be undertaken with regard to the causes of, and
potential solutions to, traffic congestion in and around Corona
del Mar; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, by this resolution, desires
to establish the Ad Hoc Corona de]. Mar Traffic Study Committee;
and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council that the
Ad Hoc Committee study the causes of traffic congestion in and
around Corona del Mar, explore possible solutions to the traffic
congestion, and thereafter report to the City Council with
findings and recommendations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the Ad Hoc Corona del Mar Traffic
Study Committee is hereby established:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the composition, function
and duties of the Ad Hoc Corona del Mar Traffic Study Committee
shall be as follows:
1. Membership
The Committee shall consist of two members of the
City Council, appointed by the Mayor;
2. Duties
The Committee shall have the following duties:
a. The Committee is to study the causes of, and
possible solutions to, traffic congestion in and around Corona
del Mar;
b. The Committee, during the course of its study,
shall solicit input from citizens, community associations, civic
and business associations, and other groups which have previously
expressed an interest in the subject matter of the study;
C. The Committee shall report to the City
Council, with findings and recommendations, on or before
• September 1, 1984.
3. Technical Assistance
Staff support to the Committee shall be provided by
the Planning Department, Public Works Department and Traffic
Engineering. Staff support shall be provided as requested by the
Committee. The Committee may also utilize technical assistance
volunteered by interested parties.
4. Termination
This Committee shall cease to exist on December 31,
1984, or at such time as the report of the Committee is
submitted, whichever shall first occur.
