A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
ESTABLISHING A CITIZEN'S AD HOC
CANNERY VILLAGE /McFADDEN SQUARE
SPECIFIC AREA PLAN COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
has determined that a Specific Area Plan for the Cannery Viliage/
McFadden Square area is both necessary and desirable; and
is WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has retained the
consulting services of The Arroyo Group to assist in the preparation
of said Specific Area Plan; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the consultant and the City
Council to have a Citizens Committee provide information, input, and
comment to the City staff and the consultant during the preparation of
said plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach that a Citizen's Committee is hereby
established.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the functions, duties, and
composition of the Committee shall be as follows:
1. The Committee shall consist of twelve members, with equal
representation from residents and merchants within or generally
affected by the study area.
2. During the preparation of the Draft Specific Area Plan, the
Citizen's Committee shall meet with City staff and the consultant
prior to each of the interim reports to the Planning Commission,
to either provide comment on or review the recommended proposals.
3. Staff liaison and support shall be provided by the Planning
Department with assistance trom other City departments as needed.
4. The term of the Committee shall automatically expire on April 1,
1985, or at such time as the Specific Area Plan is adopted,
whichever shall occur first, unless extended by action of the
City Council.
