A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO
SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION
• COMMISSION AND SOUTHERN CALIFOR14IA ASSOCIATION OF
GOVERNMENTS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PEDESTRIAN AND
BIKEWAY FACILITIES (RE 1985 -86 SB -821 FUNDING PROGRAM)
WHEREAS, SB -821 provides that two percent (2 %) of each County's total
Local Transportation Fund be set aside annually and used to fund the development
of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has a bikeway and pedestrian
system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to construct the bikeway
and pedestrian system improvements within the City of Newport Beach;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach shall apply to the Orange County Transportation Commission and
Southern California Association of Governments, as follows:
1. Apply for all funds available to the City of Newport
Beach which are allocated for bikeways and pedestrian
facilities; and
2. Authorize the City Manager, or his designated repre-
sentative, as the City's authorized signatory and
designated contact person.
