HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-51 - Balboa Pier Parking Lot RatesRESOLUTION NO.. 87 -51 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A REVISED SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR THE BALBOA PIER PARKING LOT AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 86 -33 WHEREAS, on April 28, 1986, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach adopted Resolution No. 86 -33 which established, among other things, rate schedules for the Balboa Pier Parking Lot; and WHEREAS, the City maintains and operates a parking lot at the Balboa Pier; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish new and different fees for busses, motorcycles and vehicles towing trailers and parking in the Balboa Pier parking lot. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, as follows: 1. The City Manager shall determine the days upon which parking control shall be maintained and evaluate whether there is sufficient demand for the use of said lots to justify providing a parking attendant, or activating an automatic parking gate. 2. For each date that parking control is maintained, the following fees shall be charged for the use of said lots: BALBOA PIER PARKING LOT I. Sumner Rate (Last Saturday in March through the last Sunday in September) A. Weekdays and Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays Autos: -1- $.50 each 1/2 hour to maximum $5.00 per each 24 hour period • Vehicles 25 feet or longer: $1.00 each 1/2 hour to maximum $10.00 per each 24 hour period -1- Motorcycles: $.25 each 1/2 hour to maximum $2.00 per each 24 hour period II. Winter Rate (The first Monday following the last Sunday in September through the Friday preceding the first Saturday in March). L A. Weekdays and Saturdays, Sundays and Holiday AIZ7— Autos: $.50 per 1/2 hour to maximum $2.00 per each 24 hour period Vehicles 25 feet or longer $1.00 each 1/2 hour to maximum $4.00 per each 24 hour period. Motorcycles: $.25 each 1/2 hour to maximum $1.00 per each 24 hour period III. The City Manager is authorized to waive any of the aforesaid fees established herein when a special event of a charitable or civic nature is being held and it is in the best interests of the City, and the general public, that fees not be charged for the use of any such parking lot in connection with said special event. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 86 -33 be and is hereby rescinded. ADOPTED this 11th day of ATTEST: City Clerk • -2-
