WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
proposes to vacate and abandon a 6.50 foot street right -of -way as
depicted on the drawing attached as Exhibit "A," and more fully
described as follows:
A portion of Ocean Front between A and B
Streets, Newport Beach. (Adjacent to 922
Ocean Front.)
WHEREAS, for a period of five consecutive years
immediately prior to the date of this resolution, the 6.50 foot
portion of street right -of -way (Ocean Front) adjacent to and
contiguous with 922 Ocean Front has been impassable for vehicular
travel and no public money was expended for the maintenance of
922 Ocean Front during such period; and
WHEREAS, the summary vacation proceeding is conducted
pursuant to the provisions of the Public Streets, Highways and
Service Easements Vacation Law found in Section 8300, et seq. of
the Streets & Highways Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered
the provisions of the various elements of the General Plan of the
City of Newport Beach as they pertain to the location of the
easement proposed to be vacated and abandoned and finds that the
vacation and abandonment of the easement is consistent with the
provisions of the General Plan and other City ordinances,
policies and rules; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds, based upon evidence
presented to it, that the 6.50 foot portion of street right -of-
way (Ocean Front) adjacent to and contiguous with 922 Ocean Front
is unnecessary for present or prospective public use.
• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that the 6.50 foot portion of street
right -of -way (Ocean Front) adjacent to and contiguous with 922

of the City of Newport Beach that the 6.50 foot portion of street
right -of -way (Ocean Front) adjacent to and contiguous with 922

Ocean Front is hereby vacated and abandoned and no longer
constitutes a street easement;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall cause a
certified copy of the Resolution of Vacation, attested by the
Clerk, under seal, to be recorded in the Office of the Recorder
of the County of Orange.
ADOPTED this 26th day of May, 1987.
