HomeMy WebLinkAbout88-11 - General Plan Amendment 87-3B Land Use ElementRESOLUTION N0. 88 -11 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 87 -3(B) AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE NEWPORT BEACH GENERAL PLAN SO AS TO INCREASE THE ALLOWABLE ON -SITE DEVELOPMENT IN BLOCK 500 OF NEWPORT CENTER BY 560 SQUARE FEET; • FROM 323,550 SQUARE FEET TO 324,110 SQUARE FEET. WHEREAS, as part of the development and implementation of the City's General Plan, the Land Use Element has been prepared; and WHEREAS, said element of the General Plan sets forth objectives and supporting policies which serve as a guide for future development of the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 707 of the Charter of the City of Newport Beach, the Planning Commission has held a duly noticed public hearing to consider certain amendments to the above referenced element of the Newport Beach General Plan; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing the Planning Commission adopted Resolution No. 1170 recommending approval of General Plan Amendment 87 -3(B) to the City Council; and WHEREAS, this project has been reviewed and it has been determined that it is categorically exempt under Section 15301(e) of the State CEQA Guidelines (Class 1 - Additions to Existing, Structures). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach that an amendment to the ]and Use Element be approved to increase the allowable on -site development_ in Newport Center at 2161 San Joaquin Hills Road (Block 500) (Parcel 1 of Parcel Map 54 -23, Resubdivision No. 391) by 560 square feet of net floor area, from 7,000 square feet to 7,560 square feet, for the purpose of expanding an existing office and the creation of storage space. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the text of the Land Use Element be amended to read as follows: The allowed development in B1oc1c 500 - Financial Plaza is is 324,110 square feet. - 1 - 0 ADOPTED THIS 22nd day of February 1988.
