A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ORDERING THE VACATION OF A
PORTION OF SUPERIOR AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, pursuant to the provisions of the Street Vacation Act
(Section 8300 et. seq. of the Streets & Highways Code) is
authorized to vacate public easements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach desires to vacate that portion of Superior Avenue depicted
on the map attached as Exhibit B, and legally described on
Exhibit A, the vacation to be processed pursuant to the
provisions of the Street Vacation Act; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach has reviewed and considered the various elements of the
General Plan of the City of Newport Beach prior to ordering the
vacation of this portion of Superior Avenue and has determined
that the vacation is consistent with the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the vacation is consistent with, and
required by, the provisions of an Agreement between the City of
Newport Beach and State of California for the acquisition of
right -of -way essential to the prior realignment of Superior
Avenue.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds, from all the
evidence submitted at the September 12, 1988 hearing, that the
area to be vacated is unnecessary for present and prospective
public street purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that the portion of Superior Avenue
depicted on the map attached as Exhibit B, and legally described
on Exhibit A, is hereby declared vacated.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution is to be
recorded by the Orange County Recorder.

Orange, State of California, as described in the deeds to the County of Orange
recorded January 4, 1954 in Book 2643, Page 218 through 221 and recorded March
22, 1954 in Book 2692, Page 621 through 624, both of Official Records, in the
office of the County Recorder of said County as shown on Exhibit "B" attached
hereto and made a part hereof.
Excepting from the above the portion included within Pacific Coast Highway as
now established. Also excepting the portion included within tht following:
Beginning at the most Southerly corner of Lot 4 of Tract No. 7817, as shown on
the map recorded in Book 308, Pages 33 and 34 of Miscellaneous Maps, in the
office of said County Recorder; thence North 49 021157" West 50.57 feet along the
Southwesterly line of said Lot 4 to the beginning of a non - tangent curve
concave Northwesterly having a radius of 190.00 feet, a radial line to said
curve bears South 44 055100" East; thence Southwesterly 22.52 feet along said
