A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH, COUNTY OF ORANGE, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE
TREASURER OF ORANGE COUNTY INVESTMENT POOL
• WHEREAS, Government Code Section 53684 provides for a program whereby
County Treasurers are authorized to establish programs for the investment of
excess funds of local agencies within that County; and
WHEREAS, County of Orange established such a program pursuant to Government
Code Section 53685 on February 2, 1988, by virtue of the adoption of Resolution
88 -134 of the County Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does hereby find that the opportunity to deposit
and withdraw money with the County Treasurer in accordance with Government Code
Section 53684 is in the best interests of the City of Newport Beach.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DOES RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. That the City Council does hereby authorize the deposit and
withdrawal of the City of Newport Beach monies with the County Treasurer in
accordance with the provisions of Government Code Section 53684 for the purpose
of investment as stated therein.
Section II. That the following City of Newport Beach officers or their
successors in office shall be authorized to order the deposit or withdrawal of
monies with the County Treasurer pursuant to this program.
