A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A REVISED
SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR THE BALBOA YACHT BASIN
EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 1991 AND RESCINDING
RESOLUTION NO. 90 -59.
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach owns, maintains and
• operates a marina to the Balboa Yacht Basin; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has completed a
redevelopment of the marina with loan funds provided by the State
Department of Boating and Waterways; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has surveyed the berthing
rates of other marinas in Newport Harbor, and as part of its
contract with the State of California, has agreed to charge
competitive rates at the redevelopment marina; and
WHEREAS, the City has agreed that berthing rates shall be
adjusted annually on the basis of the Consumer Price Index or other
more accurate or relevant indices.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach, that the City of Newport Beach set the following
rates which shall be effective for the fiscal year 1991 -1992:
1. Slip rental rate shall be set at $12.25 per foot per
month times the overall length of the vessel or the slip length,
whichever is greater.
2. Slip tenants at the time of executing a rental agreement
shall pay to the City both the first and last month's rents based
on the length of the boat or the slip, whichever is greater, plus
a $50.00 security fee;
3. Each slip or berthing space is individually meted for
electricity. The tenant will be responsible for any electrical
usage at his rental slip. Electrical rates will be billed by the
City at the rate charged by Southern California Edison Company;
• 4. The detached garage storage spaces that are ancillary to
the marina will be charged at the rate of $90.00 per month.
5. The three apartments located on the Marina property will
be billed at $900.00 per month. Apartment tenants shall pay the
City one month's rent in advance and the equivalent of one month's

rent as security deposit.
6. Resolution No. 90 -59 is hereby rescinded, effective
September 1, 1991.
