A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH LIMITING
THE PARKING OF VEHICLES TO 30
• MINUTES FROM 7 A.M. TO 6 P.M. DAILY
ON THE INLAND SIDE OF EAST COAST
HIGHWAY FROM MARGUERITE AVENUE TO
A POINT 60 FEET NORTHWESTERLY.

WHEREAS, Section 22506 of the California Vehicle Code permits local
authorities, by ordinance or resolution, to prohibit or restrict the stopping,
standing or parking of vehicles on a State highway if the ordinance or resolution
is first submitted to and approved in writing by the Department of
Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the owner of La Cantina Liquor store at 3244 East Coast
Highway has requested two 30- minute parking spaces (green zones) on East
Coast Highway northwesterly of Marguerite Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Traffic Affairs Committee has approved the request and
the Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce and the Corona del Mar Residents
Association have given their approval also; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach that the parking of vehicles between the hours of 7 a.m. and
6 p.m. daily be limited to thirty (30) minutes on the inland side of East Coast
Highway from Marguerite Avenue to a point sixty (60) feet northwesterly; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer be and hereby
is authorized an directed to appropriately sign or mark said area to indicate such
parking limitations.
