A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO
TITLE 20 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
TO CONDUCT A COMPREHENSIVE UPDATE OF THE
ZONING ORDINANCE
0 WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach Zoning Ordinance is not efficiently structured and
contains redundant, inconsistent, and antiquated language; and
WHEREAS, a comprehensive rewrite of the Zoning Ordinance is necessary to correct these
deficiencies; and
WHEREAS, Title 20 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code authorizes the City Council to
adopt a resolution initiating amendments to the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Newport Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach to initiate an amendment to Title 20 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code to conduct a
comprehensive update of the Zoning Ordinance.
ADOPTED this 9th day of October, 1995.
