A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH RELATING TO ITS REGULAR MEETING
SCHEDULE FOR 2012.
WHEREAS, Section 407 of the City of Newport Beach's City Charter directs that the
City hold regular meetings at least twice each month; and
WHEREAS, notwithstanding Charter Section 407's meeting requirement; historically,
the months of August and December experience Council and staff member absences and
reduced legislative workloads due to the holidays. Thus, the second meeting in August and
December is cancelled to save City resources and improve overall efficiency; and
WHEREAS, the Charter also directs that the times and dates of the regular meetings
be set by Ordinance or Resolution; and
WHEREAS, planning for the 2012 calendar year obligates the City to adopt a 2012
Calendar early in the year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach hereby determines as follows:
SECTION 1. The following is the schedule for City Council regular meetings in 2012:

January 10 and 24
February 14 and 28
March 13 and 27
April 10 and 24
May 8 and 22
June 12 and 26
July 10 and 24
August 14
September 11 and 25
October 9 and 23
November 13 and 27
December 11
SECTION 2. The time of the City Council regular meetings will be held at
7:00 p.m., or as otherwise scheduled due to the demand of business.

being Resolution No. 2012 -1 was duly and regularly introduced before and adopted by the City
Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 100* day of
January, 2012, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit:
