Urban Land Institute Technical Advisory Panel Presentation (Attachment 1) The Urban Land Institute (ULI) organizes Technical Assistance Panels (TAPs) comprised of local ULI members, who collectively have varied and broad experience and knowledge applicable to particular problems to be considered. Panelists have experience in the planning, development and redevelopment of land and the ownership, management and financing of real property, specifically related to the designated study area. The TAP is a one -day panel that allows a specific focus on a real estate or land use issue facing a community. This TAP will explore how to achieve the Balboa Village vision in the public realm and the panelists will present the results at this meeting. III. Public Comment IV. Adjournment Next BVAC Meeting Date: Wednesday, October 9, 2013 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please refer to the City Website, http:// www .newportbeachca.gov /index.aspx ?page =2196, for additional information regarding the Balboa Village Advisory Committee. An agenda for this Balboa Village Advisory Committee Meeting has been posted at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting and the public is allowed to comment on agenda items. The Planning Commission meeting is subject to the Ralph M. Brown Act. Among other things, the Brown Act requires that the Commission's agenda be posted at least 72 hours in advance of each meeting and that the public be allowed to comment on agenda items before the Commission and items not on the agenda but are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Commission. The Commission may limit public comments to a reasonable amount of time, generally three (3) minutes per person. All testimony given before the Planning Commission is recorded. 1 CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH BALBOA VILLAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE AGENDA Special Joint Meeting of the Newport Beach City Council, Planning Commission, and Balboa Village Advisory Committee Balboa Pavilion 400 Main Street Wednesday, September 11, 2013 - 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This Special Meeting of the City Council is subject to the Ralph M. Brown Act. Among other things, the Brown Act requires that the agenda be posted and distributed to Council Members, and members of the media requesting notice, at least 24 hours in advance of each Special Meeting and that the public be allowed to comment on agenda items before the City Council and items not on the agenda but are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the City Council. The City Council may limit public comments to a reasonable amount of time, generally either three (3) or five (5) minutes per person. It is the intention of the City of Newport Beach to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in all respects. If, as an attendee or a participant at this meeting, you will need special assistance beyond what is normally provided, the City of Newport Beach will attempt to accommodate you in every reasonable manner. Please contact Leilani Brown, City Clerk, prior to the meeting to inform us of your particular needs and to determine if accommodation is feasible (949- 644 -3005 or cityclerk(o )newportbeachca.gov). 2 NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. for a joint meeting with the City Council, Planning Commission, and Balboa Village Advisory Committee to hear a report of the Urban Land Institute Technical Assistance Panel for Balboa Village. The meeting will be held in the Balboa Pavilion, located at 400 Main Street, Newport Beach, California.
