THE DESIGN GUIDELINES FOR LIDO VILLAGE WILL FEATURE FOUR CORNERSTONES,
SERVING AS THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES THAT ALL MEASURES WILL STRIVE TO ACHIEVE.
Unification
• Present a unifying theme for Lido Village.
• Define and enhance gathering spaces.
• Improve wayfinding.
• Promote connectivity throughout village.
Flexibility
• Offer various options for achieving common goals.
• Allow for individual ownerships to make improvements independently.
• Present actions that can beautify physical environment while considering
existing conditions, zoning, and entitlements.
M Visual Appeal
• Define "Newport Ecclectic "aesthetic including styles, colors, and materials.
• Illustrate vernacular of art, architecture, and landscaping.
• Create an attractive Gateway Village and enhance village edges.
• Maximize view corridors and scenic opportunities.
RIP Sustainability
• Encourage sustainable practices.
• Conserve water resources.
• Celebrate native landscapes.

9/ 7m — 81h Team Meeting with Stakeholders. Review community input and discuss next 90% draft.
9/15/11 Delivery of 90% Draft to city staff for incorporation into Planning Commission agenda on

9/22/11 90% Draft Review/ Presentation to Planning Commission.
10/6/11 Community Open House. Storefront display within Lido Village. Actual location and time

10/10/11 Team Meeting with stakeholders. Final text and graphic changes to document.
