Wood 3300 NEWPORT BOULEVARD (949) 644 -3222 NEWPORT BEACH, CA 92658 (949) 6443200; FAX (949) 644 -3250 REPORT TO THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Appointment to General Plan Advisory Committee SUGGESTED ACTION: Appoint Ernie Hatchell to at -large vacancy After the City Council made appointments to the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) on February 26, the Mayor and Council received the attached letter of resignation from Yvonne Houssels, who had been appointed as an at -large member from District 7. Following the original appointment method, Council member Heffernan is proposing a replacement for this vacancy, Ernie Hatchell. Mr. Hatchell was one of the original applicants for GPAC, and he attended the first Committee meeting on March 11. His application was filed on -line, and shows that he is over 65 years of age, a homeowner, and active in non - profit, cultural and neighborhood organizations. His application comment is, "I volunteer to serve the community. My broad experience in government/military (30 yrs), industry (9 yrs), and volunteer community organizations (12 yrs) provides, I believe, a useful set perspective and capabilities." SHARON Z.
