The facility was inspected on November 16, 2000. We cannot transfer the pier permit until the following deficiency has been corrected and we have been notified of the correction: A new Backflow Prevention Device must be installed at the facility. The purpose of this device is to protect the domestic water system from being contaminated by sea water. A drawing of an approved device and a drawing showing a typical installation is attached. The device that is in use currently no longer is accepted by the State of California Health Department and must be updated. The Newport Beach City Council Harbor Permit Policies require that at the time of transfer, all harbor structures shall be inspected for compliance with the City's minimum standards, and the conditions of the existing permit. All structural deficiencies must be corrected prior to transfer of the permit. Please advise this department when the above deficiencies have been corrected. Call 644- 3043 if you require additional information in regards to this matter or to request a re- inspection.
