RECOMMENDATION:
Confirm Council Member Daigle's appointment of Ron Darling to the Aviation
Committee (District 4 alternate member).
Attached is a copy of Mr. Darling's application for the Aviation Committee.

I have owned a home in east Santa Ana Heights for thirteen vears. Before residing in Santa Ana
Heights I lived on Balboa Island. Our area will formally-become -part of Newport Beach in July
of this year. As a resident of the area closest to John Wayne Airport, aviation safety and noise
abatement are of utmost concern to our communitv.
I have been actively involved in organizing community support for the upcoming annexation of
east Santa Ana Heights. I feel I have a connection to the community that will allow me to be a
conduit for public input. Further, I believe that as a principal of a thirteen member law firm, I
can be an asset by joining community concerns with legal feasibility.
