* Public Pier Extension Project
❑ Public Works will recommend that City Council approve a contract for
Swift Slip to construct these dock extensions. Swift Slip was the lowest
qualified bidder.
u Permadock, Inc. rescinded its bid for a pultruded fiberglass dock system.
D Construction should begin shortly, and hopefully completed by summer.
Bay Island Project Update
Coastal Permit with conditions was approved
in May 2009.
All other permits secured.
Biggest issue is still with the bridge and the
location of the entrance gate (whether it be
on the peninsula side or the island side).
Construction date is unknown until permit
conditions are settled.
Mooring Field Realignment
The City's application has been passed on to the
regional HQ in Alameda, Ca and will then go to
national HQ in D.C.
Federal Register public review period is 60 days.
USCG estimates that the change will be official in
8 months - 1 year (2/11) — about the time we will
be dredging.

Other Issues
Consultant has made the final edits to the draft RAMP. Will be presented to
Council in April / May.
Bait Barge RFP
San Pedro Bait Company was the successful bidder to supply bait in the entrance
channel. Contract is being finalized with the goal of being in operation by April 1.
Harbor Entrance Buoy — "J" Marker
The Coast Guard removed this buoy on Friday for service, and intends to
redeploy on Friday.
#8 Marker
Coast Guard
has the authority to
proceed with
removing the fixed pile. They are
searching for
local contractors to
help with this
project.
Coastal Marinas Permit
This proposal is "dead."
State Water Board will be focusing
on the Clean
Marina
Program instead.
However, things could still change, so we'll
continue to
monitor.
Other Issues
* Commercial Pier Billings
We recently completed an audit of our commercial pier
billings for the harbor.
Up until now, it was unclear how each individual property
was billed, and we noticed some inconsistencies from
property to property.
This effort will rectify any discrepancies and so everyone is
billed in the same manner.
wr Balboa Yacht Basin Management
Plan to issue the RFP in April.
Other Issues
Recommend forming a subcommittee to look at:
Rules, time limits etc ... for Rhine Channel Dock and
Fernando, 15th and 19th Street dock extension
projects.
These will be built soon, so our time frame is rather short.
Sign consolidation for all of our public docks
