Linda Isle /Harbor Island Channels
Joint City / County Project
City Tidelands: Backside of Linda Isle (1/3 of area)
County Tidelands: Harbor Island Channel (2/3 of area)
-8 feet MLLW + 2 feet over - dredge
27,736 cy + 24,000 cy over - dredge
- NewFields completed sediment characterization in March 2012 (jointly
paid by City /County).
Anchor QEA is assisting with permitting these channels ASAP (County to
reimburse City).
Goal:
Ready to dredge during current Lower Bay Project (best case
assuming funding & equipment can fit in small channels), or
Ready to dredge in 2 years during Balboa Marina expansion.
Sediment Characterization & Eelgrass
All material suitable for
LA -3 disposal except
blue box in City
channel (5,000 cy).
Eelgrass is present, but
more so in County
channel.
Mitigation will be
required.
Mooring Field Realignment
Permission to realign submitted in 2009
Years of input by Staff and Mooring Master Plan

USCG environmental and legal review -1.5yrs

To provide a forum for all groups to meet and discuss any
issues that they experienced last summer; and
Plan and provide for this summer; and
Foster good will and establish working relationships.
