Members of the public are invited to comment on non agenda items.
Speakers are limited to three minutes.
IV. CONSENT CALENDAR
NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
All matters listed under Consent Calendar (1 -6) are considered by
• the Commission to be routine and will all be enacted by one motion
in the form listed below. The Commission members have received
detailed staff reports on each of the items recommending approval.
There will be no separate discussion of these items prior to the time
the Commission votes on the motion unless members of the
Commission, staff or the public request specific items to be
discussed and/or removed from the Consent Calendar for separate
action.
Members of the public who wish to discuss a Consent Calendar
item should -come forward to the lectern upon invitation by the
Chair, state their name and Consent Calendar Item Number, and
complete the sign -in card provided at the podium. Speakers are limited -
to five minutes on agenda items.

• Letter from Jesse Sell regarding budget expenses.
• Letter from Orange County Coast Association regarding County
restructuring.
• Letter from Chet'Beiler to Ed Benson regarding Amish Country
Gazebos. The catalog is available in the Community Services
Department office.

Report of Park and Tree Division activities during September and
upcoming projects in October.
3. Recreation and Senior Services (Reports Attached)
Report of activities during September for these two divisions.

4. Balboa Island Bench Donation (Report Attached)
Approve one 6' teak bench donation from the Balboa Island Improvement
Association to be installed at Apolena Avenue and North Bay Front on
Balboa Island.
5. Exchange Club of Newport Beach Bench Donation (Report Attached)
Approve one concrete bench donation from the Exchange Club to be
installed at Bob Henry Park.
6. Street Tree Designation for 16th Street (Report Attached)
Approve the parkway street tree designation of Pyrus calleryana
"Aristocrat" for 16th Street, east of Dover Avenue.
V. DISCUSSION ITEMS
Bayside Drive (Verbal Report)
Review, conceptual landscape plan for Bayside Drive.
8. Hoag Linear Park (Verbal Report)
Review recommendations from the Park and Open Space Committee on
plans for Hoag Linear Park.
9. Appeal of Tree Removal at 3 Hampshire Court (Report Attached)
Review appeal from Karen Kanen to retain one Eucalyptus rudis tree.
• 10. Tree Removals on Leeward Lane (Report Attached)
Review appeals of Sandra Glaser, 2100 Leeward Lane, and David Clark,
2121 Leeward Lane, to retain Tomlinson Ash trees.
11. Tree Removals on Candlestick, Glenwood, Sandlewood Lanes and
Starlight Circle (Report Attached)
Review removal of Eucalyptus citriodora trees due to significant private
and public property damage.
12. Park and Open Space Committee (Verbal Report)
Review status of Gateway Parks and Recreation and Open Space
Element.
13. Subcommittee Reports (Verbal Reports)
Status reports from Budget, Tree Policy, Community Service Awards and
Opening of Bob Henry Park Committees.

Discuss the Commission's annual Christmas Party.
